Northern Territory Migration Occupation List

Northern Territory updated their List of Occupations last April 16, 2016. NT will consider nominating you if you are one of the following:
  • Your nominated occupation is included on the said List and your skills and experience is relevant to NT
  • You should have at least an offer of employment in your skilled occupation or closely related occupation, if your occupation is not on the said list, but it is in the CSOL,
  • You have finished a course of not less than 2 years at Charles Darwin University Campus or
  • You should have a strong and well established family connections in the NT, if your occupation is not on the said list, but it is in the CSOL
  • You are currently living in NT and meet residency and work requirements


You minimum financial capacity (net assets) should be AU$35T for individual applicant plus AU$15T for spouse plus AU$10T for first child and additional AU$5 for each child.

State Nominated List for South Australia

By July 4, 2016, additional occupations will be added on the SA Nominated Occupation Supplementary List who meet at least one of the following requirements :
  • applicants who have 80 points or higher (including state nomination points) on the points test*
  • International graduate of South Australia
  • Worked in SA for the last 12 months
  • Have an immediate family member residing in SA for 12 months or more

South Australia requirements for ICT occupations

Starting July 4 this year, South Australia will only nominate offshore applicants for ICT occupations on their Nomination Occupation List if they can obtain 70 points (including state nomination points) on the DIBP points test.

State Nominated List for Queensland

There is a different List of skilled occupation depending on the type of visa, SC 190 or SC 489.

Outside QLD
Applicants for SC 489 or 190outside QLD requires that their skilled occupation is in the  QSOL

Postgraduates of QLD should have an occupation on the QSOL for Alumni.

Working in QLD
Should have ongoing employment with at least 12 months employment contract and whose occupation is in QSOL - working

State Nominated List for New South Wales

There is a separate list of occupations for permanent and provisional visas.

For Subclass 190 visa (permanent visa), applicant will first need to register their Expression of Interest (EOI) and choose NSW in order to apply for nomination. Applicant will be ranked based on their points score, English ability, then skilled employment. When candidates has the same score in this criteria, they will be further ranked based on the date and time the EOI was submitted. The updated state nominated list released as of July 2015 is here.

For Subclass 489 (provisional visa), your nominated occupation should be in the list of the particular region you are applying for. The following regions are open into inviting migrants to live and work in their area:
